St.Gallen, Switzerland, March 06, 2025 - FISBA, a global leader in optical components and systems, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Martin Forrer as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Head of Development.
In this key leadership role, Martin Forrer will oversee project execution for customer and development initiatives while ensuring that FISBA’s R&D efforts align with market needs.
Martin Forrer has been with FISBA for 28 years, holding various leadership positions, including a previous tenure as CTO, during which he successfully led product and technology development for customer-specific photonic solutions. In addition to his new role, he will continue to serve as Senior Vice President of Business Development and a Member of the Management Team, focusing on international growth and long-term strategic direction.

Martin Forrer holds a Diploma in Physics from ETH Zurich, a PhD in Applied Physics from the University of Bern, and a Master of Technology Enterprise from IMD Business School in Lausanne. More recently, he earned an Executive MBA from Quantic. He is a member of the Swiss Academy of Technical Sciences (SATW) and serves as an Expert at Innosuisse, the Swiss Innovation Agency, where he evaluates industry-academic partnerships and startup projects in life sciences, photonics, and engineering.
