Be part of change

  • Management of the technical department, consisting of operational and building services engineering as well as the company's own workshop
  • Ensuring the regular operation of building and operational technology and proper functionality
  • Identifying maintenance measures and necessary repairs, as well as creating service descriptions and obtaining bids in accordance with procurement regulations
  • Deployment planning for tradespeople, coordination and prioritization of work, and final inspection
  • Monitoring compliance with maintenance cycles and prescribed inspections, tendering maintenance contracts
  • Application, implementation, and monitoring of projects, including schedule and budget control
  • Collaboration with institute and administrative management, all departments, authorities, architects, and specialist planners, as well as the construction department of the Fraunhofer headquarters
  • Preparation of energy consumption data, documentation of energy-saving measures, and planning of further savings opportunities for regular energy audits
  • Documentation of all work on technical systems and project data in accordance with the specified documentation system 

What you contribute

  • A degree in building services engineering, facility management, or process engineering; ideally, you also have experience in managing employees
  • Experience in the maintenance and repair of operational and building services equipment
  • Very good technical knowledge in at least one of the following areas: gas supply, indoor air and refrigeration technology, or building automation
  • Basic knowledge of preventive fire protection is required
  • Good basic knowledge of the relevant technical regulations (VDE standards, TRBS, BetrSichV, etc.)
  • Understanding of technical processes and fault detection
  • Ability to work independently and in a service-oriented manner, flexibility, communication and teamwork skills – even in work-intensive situations
  • A constructive and goal-oriented working style
  • Initial experience in leading small groups, strong persuasiveness, confident manner, and good negotiation skills
  • Very good written and spoken German at level C2
  • Basic knowledge of English
  • Suitability for working in clean rooms
  • Willingness to occasionally perform necessary work on weekends

The position is initially limited to 2 years. An extension is explicitly desired.
 
The weekly working time is 39 hours. This position is also available on a part-time basis.
