Join the VPIphotonics Team in Berlin, Germany. The Application Engineer will work in our Technical Services team, focusing on simulating technologies and concepts for integratedphotonics, optoelectronics, and related applications. A successful candidate will provide and drive technical leadership and application support for VPIphotonics products and services.

Responsibilities

• Presentation of VPIphotonics design tool capabilities at customer meetings/tradeshows
• Education of customers through application notes, webinars, videos, and training
• Provision of technical application support to customers
• Conveyance of customer feedback to technical project teams
• Contribution to externally funded R&D projects
• Publication of significant scientific or engineering results in journals or at conferences
• Participation in the development process, including knowledge transfer from research activities

Your profile:

Qualifications/Experience

• A master's degree in electrical engineering, physics, or optics, focusing on modeling
• photonic or optoelectronic applications, is mandatory. A Ph.D. degree or significant
• relevant professional experience is a plus.
• A good understanding of the design and manufacturing processes of integrated photonics
• and optoelectronics applications, including their underlying technologies, is required.
• Experience with VPIphotonics design tools is highly preferred.
• Solid programming experience in Python (or Matlab) is highly preferred.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of German is a plus.
