LightSim - Forum for Automotive Lighting Simulation and VR

OBJECTIVE

Connected Light Environments

Ever-growing requirements regarding efficiency, sight comfort, safety and design lead to new issues, solutions and innovations from automotive manufacturers and developers of light components. The technological development of both exterior and interior occurs at a tearing pace. The lighting technologies in the automotive field have made arapid progress in recent decades. In the early 1990s, halogen bulbs replaced conventional bulbs. Today LED, OLED and laser technologies offer not only very high light output and new lighting concepts for greater safety. They areincreasingly being understood as core elements of the design. A multitude of questions concerning light efficiency, light performance, homogeneity, functionality and system integration need to be answered early in the development process. Extensive skills of light sources, materials and physical light effects are essential. Light simulation and VR technologies play an increasingly important role in the modern development process.

LightSim is the new forum for experts from the field of automotive light simulation and virtual reality. The networking event picks up the impact of major automotive market trends on virtual development of lighting technologies: autonomous driving, efficiency and electromobility, digitization and connectivity as well as individualization. Besides latest simulation and VR technologies, the event focuses on future developments and trends and discusses thereof arising requirements. The event organizers want to offer both science and industry a better access and new possibilities for professional exchange and future collaborations.
