Your activity:

The position involves undertaking basic and application-oriented scientific and technological research on nonlinear optics (second- up to seventh-order effects) for temporal and spatial four-wave mixing for frequency and mode conversion as well as chemically selective nonlinear microscopy.

Candidates are expected to show the potential for building-up a research sub-group within the Optical Technologies Group, including independent research, project applications to relevant funding institutions within national and international frameworks, teaching and supervision of undergraduate and graduate students, and development of new teaching formats. They should have already demonstrated the capacity to execute the proposed research and to publish the accompanying results in respected journals. Candidates are expected to have the interest and capability to successfully undertake a Habilitation during the period of employment. • Proven knowledge and experience, as far as possible, on all following topics: generation and characterization of ultrashort laser pulses, experimental and theoretical nonlinear optics, and numerical modeling of the propagation of ultrashort laser pulses in scattering or structured nonlinear media
  • A well above-average willingness to perform and outstanding skills in relation to working independently, problem-solving and presenting result
  • Experience in project management, technical guidance and personnel management of employees, as well as securing third-party funding
